Planning for the Wichita Curling Club is continuing...we are creating a website, having meetings, and have a date for an open house! Keep watching for more updates very soon!!

WCC Planning Meeting - Mar 23rd

Interest continues to be strong for a curling club here in the city! We've heard from at least 70 people that are interested in the sport. Next Tuesday, Mar 23rd, we'll be meeting to discuss plans for the Club. We'll be at the Fox & Hound(Waterfront) at 6:30 PM. If you would like to be a part of the planning process, or have ANY input that could help make this club a success please show up! Email me or sign up above to let me know that you'll be attending. Hope to meet many of you there!

We especially need people with expertise in:

-marketing
-web development
-legal matters(we will eventually get registered as a non-profit organization)
-organizational structure
-fabrication(would be cheaper if we were able to make a lot of our own equipment)
-passion for the sport of curling:)

If you can't make it but would still like to be involved in planning let me know. We have a lot of interest and if we can expand a little more on what we already have, we can make a really strong organization!

Thanks to everyone that showed up at the Fox & Hound last weekend, we had a great turnout and it was so great to meet all of you. I think everyone had a great time! We clearly have enough interest here in Wichita to get something going. Keep watching your emails and this blog for updates on our progress...

Come watch gold medal curling at the Fox & Hound!

We've had so much interest in the club lately that we had to plan a gathering. So this Saturday, Feb. 27th we'll be watching the olympic gold medal curling game at the Fox & Hound(Waterfront at 13th & Webb) from 5 - 8 PM! This is a great chance to watch some great curling and meet other people interested in the sport. We'll also be there to answer any questions you might have about curling, and how to get involved in the sport and club. Be a part of the fun and excitement of starting a club here in Wichita!

Kansas City Club "learn to curl" classes filling up fast

If you want to try your hand at curling now, the best way is to attend a "learn to curl" class at the Kansas City Curling Club. Open spots are filling up very fast. If you can't get in this season you will likely have to wait until the summer or fall to give it a try. So sign up, and have some fun!

The Wichita Curling Club is currently a small group of people that travel to the Kansas City Curling Club once every month or two to practice curling and have fun with the great people involved in the sport. We’re always looking for more people to become involved so we can add another team or have a rotating group of people that head up weekly to represent our city in the sport of curling. We also travel yearly to the KC clubs bonspiel in April, which is a weekend tournament, and gathering. We welcome people of all ages, genders, and experience levels, and would love to have you be a part of it!!

One day we hope to have a curling club of our own in Wichita, but first we need to have a core group of people that are dedicated to seeing that dream become a reality. If we get enough people interested, the Kansas City Curling Club has offered to bring their curling stones down to have a Wichita Curling open house! If you are at all interested in seeing this happen or a club forming please get involved now so we can get some excitement going for the future!
